St. Mark’s Cathedral

Starting at the Sea Gate, our route will lead us through narrow streets where laundry is hung out to dry, to the main square where St. Mark’s Cathedral is squeezed. The Cathedral’s facade is decorated with gorgeous cornices animated with bizarre animals. You’ll see the figures of Adam and Eve sculpted in a very unusual pose…

The birthplace of Marco Polo

We’ll take you to the birthplace of Marco Polo. Don’t believe he was born here? It’s all right. After you hear our story, you’ll change your mind!

As we stroll, you’ll see cats that already outnumber the inhabitants of the Old Town. You’ll learn about the strategic position of the town, and where all that limestone was hauled from.

All Saints’ Brotherhood

We’ll visit All Saints’ Church which guards a 15th-century polyptych painted by the most respected Dalmatian artist of that time – Blaž Jurjev Trogiranin. We’ll enter the seat of All Saints’ Brotherhood where Byzantine Icons are on display. You’ll also see the wax candles that brothers carry in their processions. Originally, they were flagellants…

Our Korčula sightseeing tour will end at the Land Gate and the 14th-century Revelin Tower. On the tower, you’ll see a relief of a winged lion – the symbol of Venice. All lions from Venice fly, and all lions from Venice read – at least, in Korčula Town.
