Footpaths are like dreams to be followed…

Croatia’s coast, the nearby mountains, and its islands, all with their exceptionally beautiful and diverse countryside, offer a wide variety of hikes. They range from easy walks to strenuous ascents. With our hiking tours you can have both.

Many of the footpaths we take are ancient paths connecting villages, and passing through forests, terraced fields, olive groves, and vineyards, or they’ve been carved out by the force of rainwater hitting the slopes of the mountains. You may find yourself in landscapes where little has changed for centuries.

Some hikes pass sites bearing witness to religious beliefs, others to the country’s turbulent history. All hikes include the Adriatic Sea as a constant background to our fascinating discovery. Everywhere the colours are intense, from the blues and greens of the water to the dazzling white of the karst, and the vivid purples of flowers and butterflies.

The best months to enjoy our hiking tours are late March to early June, and September to late October, thus it’s possible to hike all year long. Croatia’s coast and islands have a Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers and mild, damp winters. In July and August the sun can pose a real problem – temperatures exceed 30°C, which is generally too hot for pleasant hiking, except in the early morning. Our rule of thumb is to always carry plenty of water.
